The most recent YA favorite of mine is "Sunwing" by Kenneth Oppel. This is the sequel to "Silverwing," the fantasy story of a bat who is searching for his father. "Sunwing" continues Shade's quest and explains some of the mysteries about the Humans. The novel is a suspenseful and fully-realized fantasy, a great continuation of Shade's story. I actually like bats now.
