Come and meet AVA WEISS, VP and Art Director at Greenwillow Books!
(HarperCollins) Shall we COUNT the Caldecotts her picture books have won!?!
We also welcome EDIE WEINBERG, Art Director at Cartwheel Books! She directs the preschool/novelty imprint at Scholastic!!!
Don't forget "The Art Director Next Door"!!! We will hear from: Joe Connolly, Boy's Life Tricia Legault, Lyrick Studios Joann Long, Hendrick-Long Chris Schechner, Pockets Kathleen Vincent, Dallas Morning News
Before you come, send us samples for our Symposium Portfolio. (March 31 postmark deadline.) WE WILL MAKE A SYMPOSIUM PORTFOLIO FOR EACH ART DIRECTOR!!!
On April 28, bring your portfolio for the art directors to view. YOUR PORTFOLIO MAY BE SELECTED for the NY PICKS! Our 2 NY art directors will each select ONE EXEMPLARY PORTFOLIO and share it with the symposium!!!
Talk to the art directors during... our 90 minute lunch our 90 minute Q&A panel our one hour "Meet and Greet" at the end of the day
Early registration postmark deadline, March 31, 2001:
$75 SCBWI members
$80 nonmembers A box lunch is included in the registration price.
[After March 31, registration goes up $10 per person.]
Add your name to our mailing list. Tell your friends! Send email and snail mail addresses to asuen at flash.net Our flyer will be mailed in January.
You can fly to New York for $300, pay $200 a night for a hotel and even more for meals, OR you can do it all in Dallas for just $75!!
