Ms. Hill,

   We here on the staff at Ranger Rick magazine have been closely following this discussion about naming animals, and are very interested in your comments. This is touching on a debate we're having internally about when to anthropomorphize animals to get a point across and when not to.

   I was wondering if we could ask for your opinion on something very specific. I'd like to send you a recent issue of the magazine and mark a couple of places which show this debate. We'd very much to know how you think elementary-school-aged kids would react to these pages. Would you consider helping us out? We're published by the National Wildlife Federation, a non, non, non-profit group, but we'd be happy to send you some issues of the magazine if that would be useful to your library.
