My most recent favorite children's book is "The Floating Orchard" written by Troon Harrison, with paintings by Miranda Jones and published by Tundra Books (in Canada). It's the story of a family who must cut down their plum tree to built the mast for a boat and escape and oncoming flood. Quite a touching book, especially for anyone who has moved from one country to another.
