Nonfiction Favorites

I agree with Arlene that Snowflake Bently is bound to be a classic. A few other favorites on my personal list include:

by Barry Moser (Harcourt Brace & Co. 1998)

1983--an oldie but a Newbery Honor book)

1993--another New England beauty)

and all the other Simon books...

Dorling Kindersley Cross-Sections books...my boys loved to pour over the detailed sections on topics such as planes and human bodies.

Question... Do the Magic School Bus books count as fiction or nonfiction? They present lots of information in a fun format for young readers.

Funny how my boys read purely nonfiction until around third grade when their reading ability caught up to their interests. They jumped from nonfiction right into Brian Jaques and Jane Yolan dragon fantasies but continue to enjoy nonfiction as they stretch from children's into the adult offerings.
