Does anyone use poetry to coincide with biography? Recently several books of poems have appeared highlighting famous lives. One is FREEDOM LIKE SUNLIGHT by J. Patrick Lewis (Creative Editions) subtitled "Praisongs for Black Americans." Another is my own collection LIVES: POEMS ABOUT FAMOUS AMERICANS
(HarperCollins.) Included in the volumes are poems about Langston Hughes, Martin Luther King, Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt, Sacajewea, Helen Keller, etc.

I have used poetry in all grades to coincide with biographies.

Anyone else?
