The November SMITHSONIAN features an eight-page article, "Smithsonian's Notable Books for Children 2000," written by Kathleen Burke. It begins with a tribute to L.M. Montgomery and the "Anne of Green Gables" books, followed by many short reviews. It was wonderful to see a general interest magazine devote so much space to children's books. You might like to check it out.
