The 2000 Jane Addams Children's Book Awards & Honor Books will be presented on Friday afternoon, October 20, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. during a celebratory event to be held at the Church Center for the U.N., 2nd Floor, 777 United Nations Plaza, New York City.
The award winners & honor book recipients or their representatives will each speak briefly in acceptance, so it's always a dynamic afternoon. All interested individuals are invited. If you plan to attend, please notify the JAPA office that you expect to be there to congratulate the authors, artists, and/or editors and publishers of the honored books. Contact the JAPA Executive Director, Ms. Isha Dyfan
(phone 212h2?30; japa at igc.apc.org), so she can plan accordingly for printed materials and reception arrangements. There are no tickets, and there is no charge.
I'll be there for sure. Be sure to say hello, if we have not met each other in person - and in real time!
