The University of Southern Mississippi will host the 34th annual Children's Book Festival on the university campus. Dates are March 21#, 2001. Newbery medalist Virginia Hamilton is the recipient of the 2001 USM medallion and our featured speaker. Other speakers include author/illustrator Denise Fleming, author/illustrator Vera B. Williams, poet Arnold Adoff, and storyteller Evester Roper. In addition to the speeches, there will be several workshops, autographing sessions, and a chance to see the newest exhibit at the de Grummond Collection.
