I agree with Monica's approach to the "Disneyfied" world. Although I don't "do" Alice, I, too, do an extensive Cinderella unit, and the familiar Disney version is a good jumping off place, and because of its familiarity, it's a great place to begin the compare and contrast portion of our activity.
Like it or not, we exist in the real world and the real world includes Disney.
