Emma Dryden/Marc Kornblatt Dialogue at CCBC

Coming to an Understanding: A Dialogue Between Editor Emma Dryden and Novelist Marc Kornblatt" will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 5:30-6:30pm, in the Elizabeth Burr Room of the CCBC, 4290 Helen C. White Hall, 600 N. Park St., UW-Madison.

This is one of three opportunities sponsored by the CCBC during American Education Week, which is also Children's Book Week. Emma Dryden is Executive Editor of Margaret K. McElderry Books at Simon & Schuster. Madison author Marc Kornblatt is a full-time student in the UW-Madison School of Education. His novel
"Understanding Buddy" is not his first published book, but it's his first novel, and it will be published in April, 2001. Dryden edited
"Understanding Buddy." She and Kornblatt will discuss their individual roles of editor and author, as well as the distinctive journey toward understanding they made while this novel was being edited. Ginny Moore Kruse will moderate the discussion.

All interested UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff, along with all writers, teachers, librarians, and other adults, are welcome to attend this free event sponsored by the Cooperative Children's Book Center and the Friends of the CCBC. No advance registration is required.
