Hello, all. I couldn't leave this topic without mentioning Jeffrey Garrett's wonderful article, "The Aryan Alice and other International Misunderstandings", which is about how Alice illustrators from different countries translate Carroll (and sometimes Tenniel) into their own cultural context. Jeff originally presented this paper as a slide lecture to launch The Looking Glass. Unfortunately we couldn't reproduce the slides, but I know you'll all enjoy his article.
