This month we'll be discussing Lewis Carroll's classic work "Alice in Wonderland." We are pleased to have Monica Edinger, a fourth grade teacher at the Dalton School in New York City, as our guest facilitator.

I hope you will all take the opportunity, if you haven't done so already, to visit "The Many Faces of Alice," the web page created by Monica and school librarian Roxanne Hsu Feldman that deals with this classroom project. The URL is: http://www.dalton.org/ms/alice/ This will give you a sense of some of the very creative approaches Monica has taken with her fourth graders to make this 19th century classic come to life for 21st century children.

I'll turn things over to Monica for now so she can tell us a little bit more about her experiences with "Alice" in the classroom.
