Dear S.F. Sue:

Permit me to introduce a "Don't you dare choose..." idea. Please, please, nothing by Albert Marrin. His history is incredibly suspect--and I have only been saying this for 30 years. Check out ACL's "BayViews" for reviews on his stuff--especially reviews by Nina Lindsay (who happens to be on your committee). To be fair--I have refused for years and years to review Martrin stuff because he is so glib--and such a bad historian.

AND...best to you SFSUE,

 Grandma (Cloverdale Cutie)
