EDITOR, BOOK LINKS MAGAZINE. The American Library Association is seeking an editor for Book
Links Magazine. Published by Booklist publications, an imprint of the American Library Association,
Book Links is a bimonthly magazine dedicated to connecting children's books, libraries, and
classrooms. Its audience is classroom teachers, public and school librarians, and parents. Book
Links, based on the principle of literature?sed learning, offers thematically structured articles aimed
at helping teachers and librarians incorporate children's books into the curriculum. The editor
manages all phases of the magazine's daily operation: acquisitions, line editing, design, and
production. In addition, the editor promotes Book Links through public speaking engagements and
conferences. The job requires a wide knowledge of children's literature and the ability to use this
knowledge to establish the imaginative links that give the magazine its identity. The editor must be
aware of current trends in public and school libraries, the classroom, and the children's publishing
world. Experience in writing, editing, and promotion is essential as are good organizational skills, an
attention to detail, and an ability to manage both full-time staff and free-lancers. Salary Range:
Negotiable from $47,608 depending on qualifications. For consideration, send a letter of application,
