I, too, LOVED seeing children's books on the NYT Bestseller list. sigh. Well... Those of us who live in rural, silly, or benighted areas where the newspapers don't bother with the newly-formed Children's Bestseller list should contact our newspapers and ask our friends and neighbors others to do the same. I have just written mine, pointing out the unsubtle connection between children's literacy and their own future. They could perhaps develop an awareness of the need to promote kids' literacy when and where they can?
Surely most families (kids, parents, grandparents and others) as well as the educational and library communities are interested in a children's bestsellers list? That is a large and significant audience.
