Oh, for heaven's sakes, Roger and others, I am hardly a Marxist: anarchist, possibly, classical Norman Thomas Socialist, surely, but never, never a Marxist-?spite my affection and disgusting hysterical laughter at many of the Bros. Marx films. And right now--as someone who owns stock--and has owned stock in the NYTimes, I still think that the NYTBR's ever-so-special list was to make way for books for "BIG" people's book buyers and the advertisers for same "BIG" people's books. See:
"Letters." NYTBR 9/10/00 for a marvelous letter about what titles will replace the HPs.
