Interesting point about Muggles and "Mudbloods," Beth. I, too, think Rowling is laying the groundwork for an attack by Voldemort and his followers on Muggles and Muggle-born wizards with all of the Malfoys' and Voldemort's preoccupation with "pure bloods." This, I think, was an underlying theme of "Chamber of Secrets," the HP book that seems to get the least attention.
What could be a greater evil than Voldemort's arrogant and destructive notions of racial superiority?
