To me, a dedicated reader of mysteries, they don't count as mysteries because there is always some piece of information that the reader isn't privy to, which makes it impossible to solve the mystery. They are a little too Scooby-Doo-Pull-Off-The-Rubber-M ask to be considered real mysteries, despite their elements of mystery.
