I continue to be amused--and somewhat educated--by the thoughtful musings of "HP" readers--on this list and with my non-librarian, non-author, etc., etc. neighbor on the Coast. His musings---and those of all of the repondants reminds me of one of the greatest of Charles Schultz's "Peanuts" cartoons when the kids are looking at clouds and see many filosofikal pictures--except for Charlie Brown and the undersigned: We saw "horsies" in the clouds.
I saw enjoyment, suspense, delight in HP IV and truly hope that young people do, too.
Analyzing butterfly wings and rainbows can be a mighty dry business-?st done by Horn Book types, that I truly do believe. (And no, I am NOT a Marxist, Roger-Roger).
Big Grandma
Dear lord, how many dry-as-dust dissertations will be baes on debasing Harry Potter. Ugh.
(Yes, I do have a Ph.D.but not a single butterfly was hurt)
