The Center for Children's Literature at the School of Education University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is pleased to invite you to
"How a Children's Book Gets Made" on Saturday, October 21, 2000 from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm.
Featured speakers include:
Regina Griffin, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief at Holiday House, speaking on "What an Editor Does and Why."
Diane Foote, Director of Marketing at Holiday House, speaking on "After the Editor, Then What?"
DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan, speaking on "How I Work as an Author and Illustrator."
DiSalvo-Ryan, author/illustrator of over 30 books, has created art described by BOOKLIST as "sensitive," by KIRKUS REVIEWS as "warm" and by SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL as "winning."
Her writing has been noted as "natural-sounding and realistic" by HORNBOOK GUIDE and "unsentimental (and) honest" by PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
General Public : $25.00 Members of Friends Groups: $15.00 Students: $10.00 Optional box lunch with speakers: $10.00
