I haven't read all of the posts this month yet. I too read Cleary as a youngster - almost 50 years ago. And I have used the opening chapter of Henry (where he finds and brings Ribsy home on the bus) to many classes aas they visited the library - always a hit. I've used a Ramona book in the children's lit classes l"ve taught. But the scene that remains in my mind is Ellen Tibbits wearing the long underware in the ballet class. I had soo much empathy for how she felt and looked, and I didn't even take ballet. mj wiseman
