I want to put in my two cents worth about Dear Mr. Henshaw. Several years ago I was visiting a teacher friend, and she and her kids knew I had had several articles and stories published for kids. Her 12-year-old son shared with me that Dear Mr. Henshaw was his favorite book, and insisted I read it while I was there. I could see why he loved it...his parents are divorced, so it had helped him work through his feelings about that.
