Denise Fleming, Caldecott Honor illustrator will be at Bank Street College Library to speak to adults about her work on Monday, Sept. 25. at 3:30 with a book signing and reception at 4:30. Her body of work is remarkable and unique in the crowded field of concept books for young children. IN THE TALL, TALL GRASS, LUNCH, MAMMA CAT HAS THREE KITTENS and her new title THE EVERYTHING BOOK are only a few of her titles. Pete Seeger will be at the Bank Street College in the Auditorium on Sunday October 1st at 2:00. Pete Seeger and his co-author Paul DuBois Jacobs will be presenting stories and songs for children from their new book,Pete Seeger' s Story Telling Book (Harcourt 2000). Pete Seeger, a Grammy Award winner, as well as a recipient of the N.E.A. National Medal of Arts and Kennedy Center Honors, has performed all over the world for audiences of all ages at peace rallies, civil rights marches, union meetings, schools, and camps. This is a rare opportunity to meet a living legend. Due to limited seating, tickets will be required. Tickets for this free event will be available at the Bank Street Bookstore.
