In fact, I can to this day perform the inaugural ballet class "leap
-- clutch at long underwear! -- leap -- clutch at long underwear!" scene, and am happy to do so in person for any Beverly Cleary fan who asks.

-Nancy, ex-4th grade ballet student, leaping and clutching.

When I was in second grade, I read Ellen Tebbits for the first time and loved it. Ellen had the things I didn't have: ballet lessons, a best friend named Austine, and woollen underwear. I pleaded for dance lessons
(and got them the following year), but in the meantime, Mom found for me a pair of woollen underwear. I wore them and pretended to hate them
(They were actually woollen shorts, and quite comfortable.)

Did anyone read Fifteen?
