As we turn out attention to the new topic for discussion in July, I want to call your attention to an excellent interview with David Almond by Michael Thorn that appears on the ACHUKA web site. The URL is:

http://www.achuka.co.uk/dasg.htm

In this interview, Almond talks quite a bit about his second book
"Kit's Wilderness," which has just been published in the United States by Delacorte. I hope many of you have had a chance to read it already. If you haven't, it's well-worth seeking out, as it's one of the best books published for teens recently (IMHO).

"Skellig," Almond's first novel for young readers, was published in the U.S. in 1999 by Delacorte. It was chosen as an Honor Book for the first year of the Michael Printz Award for outstanding literature for teens. Because "Skellig" has been out a bit longer and more people may have had the chance to read it, let's begin our discussion with this first one. Who out there has read it and what would you like to say about it to start out discussion off?
