The following exhibits were organized by the non-profit National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL). The exhibits consist of original works of art by children's picture book artists. Please visit them this summer and early fall at the following locations:
Going Home with David Diaz, San Antonio Children's Museum, San Antonio, Texas (ends Aug. 27th) The World of William Joyce, Irving Arts Center, Irving, Texas (ends Aug. 6th) David Wiesner: Watch the Skies! Multnomah County Central Library, Portland, Oregon
(begins July 10th) Kevin Henkes: Lilly and Friends, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, Texas (begins Aug. 7th) Mike Wimmer: Summertime, Irving Arts Center, Irving, Texas (begins July 15th)
For more information, email me at the address below, or call the specific venue. The NCCIL will open its newly renovated building on September 14, 2000. The premier exhibit will be Jerry Pinkney/Brian Pinkney: Father & Son, which will begin a national tour in December, 2000.
