Maia,
Thank you for your lovely thoughts on _Skellig_. For the sake of brevity, I have taken the liberty of snipping quite a lot from the things you mentioned, but your thoughts were all greatly appreciated. .
So many of you wrote helpful reminders of how a child/teen might look favorably at this book. It has been most helpful for me in understanding its appeal. Perhaps I am too far removed from those years to remember my own feelings; my teaching was with college age students, and my grandchildren are under age 5. So where there is life there is hope - for a better understanding of children who did not like
_Skellig_ but also of those who love it. I may even go back and read it again ...
Thank you again for writing. Joan
