I, for one, was pleased to learn that Anthony Browne had won the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for Illustration. His picture books are wonderfully weird and original. I never tire of looking at the illustrations in "Changes" and "Gorilla" which continue to reveal new dimensions, even after repeated readings. I can't think of any other picture book illustrator who uses surrealism so effectively to depict a child's inner psyche. And he's so funny!
On Achucka's excellent web page, you can read an archived interview with Anthony Browne, who was their second guest author. While you're there, you might want to take some time to explore Achuka's page in general. The direct link to the Anthony Browne material is: http://www.achuka.co.uk/absg.htm
