I have to agree that humor in a preschooler is very different than humor in a school age child. The Stupids are a riot to a 6 year old and dead on the page to a 3 year old. But I also sometimes think when sharing a book with a very young child we have to read and guide. One of my favorite books for preschoolers is Lynn Reiser's Any Kind of Dog. BTW, I think Lynn Reiser (16 published books) is one of those underrated good writers and illustrators of children's books. When using Any Kind of Dog the reader has to guide the eye of the child to the havoc in the illustrations. All sorts of wonderful discussions and laughter ensue.
