God Bless you, Jennifer Donelan for saying (or writing) out loud what I have felt for a long time, but am often afraid to say out loud. How effective any children's book is has more to do with what the child thinks about it, than what any of us so'called experts thinks. Whenever I read a book in preparation for a discussion of whether or not it would be a good book for a child, I always want to know, to see, to observe what the reaction of a real child is. Often, what bothers me about a book, doesn't even phase a child, because they look with different eyes. Thank you, Jennifer, for putting my feelings into words. Laurie Holmquist
