It's delightful to read about poetry celebrations -- I'm sure there are hundreds taking place all over this month!
I would hope that, in some of these celebrations, they will be using Eve Merriam's OUT LOUD -- it's such fun! From the first poem in the book
"Windshield Wiper" on, the rhythms and sounds of life are there. When I've shared it with young people, there's instant recognition -- and giggles as they fall into the rhythms and take on the voices of the poems. I would defy anyone to read "Auctioneer" and not take on the poem's cadence while doing so.
Do use it!
