I haven't heard much about this book-- my favorite of the Belpres this year. The poetry, in English, is very striking. (as I don't read Spanish very well, I cant speak to that..) I like the gray-scale drawings behind the poems-- they add a nice touch, a flavor perhaps, without being overpowering or the focus of the book. The language is full of wonderful, imaginative images, such as a "cilantro skyscraper", "circus kitchen", and "tractor dreams". Reading the poems as a whole, one gets a sense of spending a sunny afternoon with a creative person.
