It's been wonderful to read all your comments about the Printz Award winner and honor books over the past couple of weeks. I'm sure many of you will continue to think about and discuss all four of these provocative young adult novels for quite some time.

I'd like to give a special thanks to Phoebe Yeh, editor of "Monster," for sharing some of her insights on the book, as well as Frances Bradburn, Chair, and members of the Printz Award committee for their participation in our discussion. Thanks, too, to Michael Cart, Marc Aronson, David Gale, and Karen Wojtyla for sharing their expertise and answering our questions about the award itself. And, of course, to all of you readers who shared your own insights and those of teens, thank you!

We'll now move on to a discussion of the winners and honor books cited by the Pura Belpre Award committee, another relatively new award which recognizes outstanding Latino literature.
