A much grimmer adult SF novel on Perry's subject is Sherri Tepper's *Gate to Women's Country.* This is a post-apocalyptic novel in which women have contrived to begin manipulating the human gene pool, convinced that male aggression will annihilate the race, as it almost did. Very thought-provoking, and I only throw it in because of Perry's question.
