Skellig genre?

I've just finished reading Skellig and have been wondering what genre others would say it fits into. Or does it? It has a familiar feel to me, but I haven't been able to pin it down. Its tone is sort of like a children's version of the Vim Vender's film story, Wings of Desire. I guess the book it most feels like to me for some reason is Catwings, by Ursula LeGuin. Is there a sub genre of fantasy to do with angels? Curious
