I thought that the high school setting in _Speak_ felt authentic, but I haven't been in a high school in a long time. I asked one of my high school-aged co-workers to read it, and she said it was exactly right. Even the Marthas? Because I couldn't have known or cared less about home decor and its patron saint Martha when I was in high school. Yes, even the Marthas, my co-worker said. Wow.
