From: Laura Atkins Date: 1/24/00 3:35PM Subject: Lee & Low Books announces the first annual NEW VOICES AWARD
Dear Friend,
I am writing from Lee & Low Books to ask for your help in getting the word out about our New Voices Award. As a publisher of award-winning multicultural children's books, it has always been an important part of our mission to publish the work of new authors, especially authors of color. For this reason, we created our New Voices Award, which will be given to an author of color who has not previously published a picture book for children.
In this email you will find our Call for Entries which announces the Award and explains the contest rules. If you know of any individuals, groups, or institutions who you think would be interested in knowing about this Award, we would appreciate your help in passing along this information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Laura Atkins Editor latkins at leeandlow.com
