I just realized that Armstrong's book on Shackelton's remarkable voyage and the saving of his crew in Antarctica was a January 1999 book. It's great and highly recommended (actually so was the Clarion title by Kimmel {?}) and deals with one of my enthusiasms: Antarctic exploration. (I have a few other intellectual enthusiasms, by the way--as if you didn't know.)
