Please remember that this type of CCBC-Net message is outside of the boundaries of our discussions. Please do NOT reply to this request for mail or to confirm receiving these messages UNLESS you take the time to reply only to the person who wrote the message.

It seems to me that individuals who sign up for several electronic discussions for the sole purpose of conducting their own individual projects and yet who at the same time do not take time to thoroughly read the various "Welcome" instructions for each list are abusing the opportunity others expect to enjoy.

I've already told someone who very politely inquired a few days ago about an announcement that the CCBC-Net announcement time is over until the end of the month. Hey, given most people's schedules at the end of the year, let's make that deadline any time Dec. 23 - Jan.3 for announcements just this month.

There are 1,250 or more people in the CCBC-Net community. We're together in this discussion this month to share our favorite books of the year. Let's do it... Have your also noticed the new paperback editions of Margaret Mahy's novels "Memory" and "The Tricksters?" Thanks, Simon & Schuster, for making these two young adult novels actually look appealing to young adults! Although these paperbacks aren't new, their appearance is not only new, it's most welcome!

We were rollling along wonderfully last week as we heard about some of your favorites of 1999! If any of you who wrote last week have time to let us know the "why" behind your favorites, this is welcome, too. Not a big long explanation, but just a "because." And how about some of the rest of you? Don't worry about repetition, that's OK, and that's a measure of sorts as to how appealing or successful certain books might be.
