From: Ginny Moore Kruse <gmkruse>

Thanks, everyone, for your comments about Favorites of 1999 and also for your Gift Suggestions! For everyone who is pushing through e-mail accumulated during your break from school or during your long weekend(s), it's OK to go ahead and make other favorite book suggestions between now and January 4.

At that time we'll formally begin the first part of the January CCBC-Net discussion topics, i.e., 1999 National Book Award winners and nominees. See the upcoming announcement for the list of books.

We encourage you to make use of the last day and first day of each month for announcements concerning children's and young adult literature & projects of general interest within this virtual community of more than 1,200 individuals. We are teachers & prospective teachers at all levels, writers, publishers, editors, reviewers, school library media specialists & public librarians, parents, and others. We especially appreciate finding out about lectures, conferences & workshops we might want to attend in person or
 "virtually."

Happy New Year!
