Registration is necessary. There is no fee. These discussions will be held as follows: 1) Coretta Scott King Author & Illustrator Books: 12/.1, 5:10 - 9:10 p.m.; 2) Caldecott Books: 12/8, 5:10 - 9:10 p.m.; 3) Batchelder

Check the CCBC webpage for discussion lists. These discussion lists are composed by the CCBC staff and do not contain "official" information from any of the official book award committees.
All CCBC book discussions are open to all adults interested in reading and talking with others about some of the outstanding new books for children and young teenagers. CCBC award discussions feature various perspectives on excellence. Copies of the books on each discussion list can be found at the CCBC reference desk and may be used in the CCBC or borrowed from the CCBC on an overnight basis. Some participants locate books on the discussion lists in local libraries or bookstores.
The discussions are not programs to observe. Everyone participates in the discussion. Although it isn't necessary to have seen or read all of the books on the discussion list in advance, it's expected that participants will be familiar with a minimum of two books on the discussion list.
If you drive to the CCBC, metered campus parking is available underneath Helen C. White Hall; bring lots of quarters! The municipal Lake St. parking garage is a ten-minute walk from the CCBC. It's always possible to walk, or use a city or campus bus to come to the CCBC.
For CCBC public service hours during December, see the CCBC webpage http://www.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/thisseas.htm) or get check your print copy of "THE CCBC THIS SEASON."
