More on what children have to say regarding Harry Potter...

In today's _Seattle Times_ there is a letter to the editor from a 10-year-old girl who has read all the books twice. They have also read the first book in her third-fourth split class and are now reading the second. She says, "Most people, if not all, at my school adore the series to pieces, and that's not even half of how much I like them." She continues with an even more ringing recommendation, "Although I love to read, I have never before had the urge to read 1,085 pages in only six days."

There is also a cartoon on the editorial page on the subject of censorship of the Harry Potter books. It's by Mike Luckovich from the Atlanta Constitution. It shows two women talking together, with one saying, "We don't allow our child to read Harry Potter books. There's too much reference to evil." Her little boy is running into the room at the same time, carrying an open Bible and saying, "Mom, check it out! I'm at the part where the snake gets the naked chick to eat the apple!"
