Leda,
I think that Cooper's quintet would be considered High Fantasy, and yet there is no secondary world present there. In my experience, writers, editors, authors and readers of fantasy use the subgenre terms in many different ways; last I knew, there was no definitive description of High Fantasy. Some writers are using the term "Mythic Fantasy" to recategorize their work, and this definition crosses the subgenres as defined by use of magic or scene, instead creating a new grouping based more on philosophical or psychological representations.
Not sure if this helps!
