Witchcraft is real. Activities of those involved in witchcraft are often heinous crimes and would, at the least, be an abomination to the average citizen. 1. Am I the only person on this list who cares that young children are getting the impression that witchcraft is fun?

"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD."

 2. So do you think Rowling consulted this verse and tried to cover everything in one series?

PS-for anyone out there who was not highly offended by the comments made earlier this month about narrow-minded xians-- the quote is from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You can find it in Dueteronomy 18:10.
