I am so incredibly pissed (nope--I'm not asking anyone to excuse this verb) with all those high minded and tight souled (read: "assed") people who cannot possibly see that children, LET ME REPEAT THAT WORD children CHILDREN might possibly enjoy themselves and delight in READING and inhaling books which give them pleasure and joy-?spitethe deep filsosofies of their betters and elders. I will once more repeat for the audience the is-quotation from , I believe, H. L. Mencken that a Puritan is someone who is unhappy when someone, somewhere is enjoying himself. Holy moly, I am so tired of all those who always, ALWAYS, know what is best for the rest of us.
Let me put it in a different perspective: My local idiots, of which I am one, are always thankful for anything that holds us as do the Harry Potter books-?spite all the sermonizing of those who know better, those who know GREAT litachur, those who know what is correct.
As we say, "Humbug." Then we say "Enjoy."
Big Grandma (in her 1999 model high dudgeon. Humbug to all you purer than me souls.)
