Which brings me to a question for everyone -- if in fact the HP series continues to 'mature' as the books progress, what problems does this cause for teachers, librarians and parents? . . . I can't think off the top of my head of any other series that has presented this particular issue, so I haven't a clue how it's been handled in the past. Comments?>>
What jumped to mind for me was the Betsy/Tacy books, which begin when the characters are in third grade, if memory serves, and continue through the young adulthood, marriages, etc. of the main characters. All of this is off the top of my head, and I know nothing about the publishing history of these books--for example, over what period of time they were released.
