That is not to say there are no answers. The Romance Writers of America, a group which most of us might think are fairly complacent about their audience--seeing as how they already own a huge share of the reading public--spend a vast amount of time, energy, and money on what they call
"growing the market." They know that if you don't have readers, and if the readers you do have don't have easy acess to your books, then all the efforts you make writing your book and getting it published are worth next to nothing.
One of the main reasons I love CCBC-net is because I've discovered and read so many wonderful books. But it disturbs me that many of these books are not being discovered and read by the people they were really meant for: children.
