I tell the story "The Great Ballgame" to kids from preschool to 6th grade for library visits and usually receive a wonderful response. My teenage daughters are having a party tomorrow and have asked me to tell two stories to their friends. One they requested was "The Great Ballgame." The illustrations were wonderfully done and along with the story, afford an opportunity for discussion.

How have you reacted to J. Bruchac's books? ...How have you used them in your classrooms or libraries?
