I just wanted to mention that the Toronto Reference Library held an author evening last spring with a variety of authors, children's adult and non-fiction. It was an adult audience and Sarah Ellis read from Back of Beyond. It was quite amazing, aside from the fact that the story was excellent, and Sarah's reading was wonderful, the audience was totally mesmerized by the Sarah. I know that children's authors are often excellent readers, but the combination of Sarah reading one of her stories was truly spectacular. The audience certainly didn't come to the event thinking they would leave being enthralled by a children's writer.

Also, a few years ago at the Toronto Storytelling Festival I told one of the storiesfrom Back of Beyond. I think the story was called "The Tunnel". I must say that the story worked very well as a told story. The audience loved it. What can I say, I think Sarah's stories are gems.
